Dear Suchith, All,

There will be an ISPRS event in Hyderabad later this Dec with a session on Education, Tech transfer and Capacity development. Are you aware of anyone planning to present ICA-OSGeo Lab Network at this session? If not, I would like to use this opportunity to spread the word in the community and promote our Network.

regards,
Rajan

Subject: Req for contributions in ISPRS Symposium during 09-12 December 2014 at Hyderabad

Dear All,
The Technical Commission (TC)-VIII of ‘International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing’ (ISPRS) is organizing an International Symposium on “Operational Remote Sensing Applications: Opportunities, Progress and Challenges” at Hyderabad, India during 09-12 December, 2014. Joint sessions with ISPRS TC-IV and TC-VI are also planned during the symposium (flyer for the event attached).

One of the themes in the above event is "Education, Technology Transfer and Capacity Development" (http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/MTSTC8/sessionprogramme), which is covered under the TC-VI of ISPRS. Under this major theme, there are six Working Groups (WGs 1 to 6) covering the following sub-themes: (1) Web-based Resource Sharing for Education and Collaborative Research; (2) E-Delivery of Education Services; (3) Promotion of International Collaborative Education Programs; (4) Promotion of Regional Cooperation and Regional Capacity Development in Geoinformatics; (5) Promotion of the Profession to Young People; and (6) Technology Transfer and Capacity Development. For details, refer the ISPRS website (www.isprs.org<http://www.isprs.org/>).
I am writing this email as Secretary of TC VI/2 (being with India) to invite your contributions (extended abstracts) for the overall theme of “Education, Technology Transfer and Capacity Development".
The last date for submission of abstracts is extended to September 8, 2014. The abstract can be submitted online (http://meetings.copernicus.org/mtstc8_2014/contribution_management/) as per the guidelines provided in orange book (attached). The abstract has to be minimum one page (about 1000 words) containing all the relevant aspects needed for review.
The papers accepted for the symposium will be published in two categories namely: The International Annals (based on double-blinded peer-review) of the photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences and The International Archives (based on extended abstract review) of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences.
Please visit symposium website (http://www.nrsc.gov.in/isprs/2014tc8symposium.html) for further details.
It is also requested to give wide publicity to the above event and forward it to all concerned colleagues working in this area.
Looking forward for your contributions and with best regards,

S.K. Srivastav
Secretary, ISPRS TC VI/2
