Hey,
at one point seven wrote "no" where she really wanted to say "now" to confirm what Christoph proposed (I asked her). Summoning up this discussion the proposal stands as:
* Whenever you edit a piece of code and you are the originator (Urheber), go to the corresponding Wiki page and add you Wiki user name as a link.
* Whenever you edit a piece of code that has been abandoned by the originator (no alive user link there, coder has left altogether, whatever) you can take over responsibilities by adding your Wiki user name.
* The originator and major contributors of the code should also always be kept on that page, so do not delete the names but simply remove the square brackets around [[User:Foo Hacker]] and only leave "Foo Hacker".
== Page Naming conventions ==
For ease of recognition and linking code modules and Wiki pages should get the same name. In the example below there is a difference between:
http://www.mapbender.org/index.php/addWMSFromFeatureInfo.php
http://www.mapbender.org/index.php/Add WMS from feature info
Which one should we use? I have no suggestions, both have advantages and disadvantages, the upper on is tied more directly to the code, the lower one might be easier to find via search. For our purposes the code miodule name is probably worth more.
btw: we are currently reinventing the wheel, all this svn-wiki-document-tracker linking is done perfectly well by Trac, Codehaus' Jira and such. But to move there now would probably cause more disruption than it would help us. We have moved from CVS to SVN, changed mailing lists completely, changed mailing lists yet again, moved to another site altogether. I am fed up, I want to settle down - but that is only a personal opinion.
Best regards, Arnulf
