Marco thanks for the tipp, it leeded me to the solution !

Things got a bit difficult:

First of all: I'm NOT using the php version 5.1.2 which is shipped with SLES 10. Because I need some things like oci8-support for php5 and other things. I did not get these things working with the SLES-php.

So I use(d) the php 5.2.5 source available from http://de.php.net/ or http://www.php.net . This was the only distribution I got working with all the needed stuff like oci8, gettext, mbstring, ... .

Trying ./configure --help in this distribution only offers this: --disbale-dom
There is no --enable-dom.
So, I first thought, that dom-support is included by default.

Nevertheless (in my despair)I tried to recompiled php 5.2.5 with option --enable-dom.
No error-message during configuration and recompiling.

After installing this new version of php I found dom-support in the phpinfo.

At the first sight savewmc and loadwmc do their work !! (The second sight will be done later !)

Thanks a lot !

Greeitngs
Herbert Schoenhammer

P.S. Is it possible to maintain the installation docu at mapbender homepage. Not only gettext and mbstring is needed, also dom-support !
