[Mapbender-users] Mapbender + GeoExt is possible?

Hi all
I've been using Mapserver + Openlayers for a while. Now, I want to go further. Searching web for authentication solutions, I got to Mapbender. Also I saw GeoExt which provides nice visual features.
Is it possible to use Mapbender and GeoExt simultanously? 
Is replacing Openlayers in Mapbender with GeoExt enough or it requires more?
