I've seen some similar oddness. While the labeling algorithm in MGOS is
much better than 6.5, it should never allow labels to be rendered upside
down, so perhaps this can at least be addressed.

MapGuide open source uses a different labeling algorithm than MG 6.5.
The labels are actually supposed to curve along the polyline. Also, it will
attempt to reduce label duplication. In your case it seems like it is
unsuccessful at stitching together the segments that make up the road, which
is also causing the wrap-around of some of the labels. My guess is that your
road data has overlapping parallel polylines which confuse the algorithm
that stitches together the segments into one long road feature.

I make migration from MG 6.5 to OpenSource . And i have problem with
correct display of street name. (look in attachment or in url)

- street name are displayed in a circle (it looks like in circle), name are
in another size and they are not in line.
Street Name are from SDF file.
I use many option in Feature Label (Autodeck MapGuide Studio 2007) but
rezults is always this same.
Have you any ideas?
ps. I use Autodesk MapGuide Data Migration Tool
