[mapguide-users] Where did the original MapGuide Open Source code come from?

Dear All

I am writing a essay on GFOSS products.

I have a question regarding MapGuide Open Source. Does the source code come
from Autodesk MapGuide or from MapServer?

I assumed it was from Autodesk MapGuide but I have found some sites on the
web which mention that MapGuide Open Source was previously called MapServer
Enterprise and that MapServer was orginally involved in the setting up of
the project?

Would anybody be able to help?
