[mapguide-users] Adding map layers to a map by clients

I think it would be very cool to be able to pull out the functionality from Maestro for creating Layers from existing data on the server (SHP, SDF, Oracle, etc) - from within the Map interface - there is a lot of work involved otherwise.



Is there a way to let clients using  fusion, ajax or flexible web layouts add  map layers of interest to the map legend by selecting from a table that shows all avaialble map layers on the server?    This would allow users to view just the map layers of interest rather than seeing hundreds of layers in the legend and having to muddle through them.
