AJAX Viewer is still wins over Fusion in terms of raw performance, but the
gap has closed significantly. 

We can go faster, but it requires native support in the server/web tiers for
certain infrastructure (JSON generation, icon precaching) that currently is
implemented in PHP.

You can also use tiled map defs or map defs with tiled/dynamic combinations
in trunk Fusion (finally!)
