In the next version we update the log output, than you can see the whole URL. If you get an 500 HTTP Error it is an internal server error from your WMS. So control that your wms-url in the services.yaml is correct.
If you want, you can install a dev version including the new log:
$ pip-insstall http://mapproxy.org/static/rel/MapProxy-0.8.3.dev-20100422.tar.gz
