[MapProxy] WMS default version

Dear list,

I've noticed following behavior in MapProxy: on WMS requests to MapProxy without a VERSION parameter it's assumed that the default version is 1.1.1. Shouldn't this be 1.3.0 as this is the highest supported WMS version?

It seems to be a hard coded behavior. It would be nice if this default version could be configured. Are there any plans to make this configurable or increase the default version?
