as far as PHP 5.2 on Red Hat and compatibles is concerned, there are the source packages for the Red Hat Web Application Server available at:
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/5Server/en/RHWAS/SRPMS/
The compiled packages can be found at:
http://dev.centos.org/centos/5/CentOS-Testing.repo
