Hi,

you might try appending a NAMESPACE parameter: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-1740 This is intended to support the TYPENAME parameter when using namespace qualified type names but depending on the implementation it might help for the FILTER too.

Basically yes. Using namespace qualified XML requires namespace declaration.
