sorry, my fault for not being clear. I meant, IIS requires Windows 2000
Server edition of the OS as opposed to Windows 2000 workstation. With
Windows 2000 professional workstation (I think that is its official
name) you are limited to 5 concurrent IIS connections. For more than
that you require Windows 2000 professional advanced server edition.
The server edition of the OS costs quite a bit more than the workstation
edition of the OS.
Otoh, Apache will run without any handicaps on a computer installed with
Windows OS workstation edition.
