Stefan,

Tomcat is used for Java servlets, whilst the Mapserver EXE is a standard CGI
application. You should find a "cgi-bin" folder in your Apache folder (I
presume you're using Windows, as you refer to mapserv.exe) which will be in
Program Files\Apache Group\Apache. Put the file in there and try
http://localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv.exe

Alternatively, you can put it into another folder and in your httpd.conf
file use either the ScriptAlias or Options +ExecCGI tags. See
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/howto/cgi.html#configuringapachetopermitcgi for
more details.

I'm using mapserver with apache tomcat webserver, but there does not exist a
cgi-bin directory ... i don't know where to put the mapserv.exe file!
perhaps there are also tomcat-users out there.
