Joost,

I believe that if you can get it to work at all, then it should work for 
local, wms server and wfs server.  A wfs server just serves up the data 
that it would have drawn anyway.  It is possible that your mapserv does 
not support wfs ... try mapserv -v and see if it contains the string 
'supports=wfs_server'.  If it does then it should just work.
