FYI, there is a bug that I submitted regarding TTF symbols that might
impact this. See
http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=573
In summary the symbol flips 180 degrees depending on the angle and
slope of the the line segment.
If you are running into this problem you might want to post a note to
the list or the bug so we know.
