I have been running Debian on my systems at home with goo results after
moving there from Redhat 6.2 and 8. I haven't tried PostgreSQL/PostGIS
yet, but the systems are easy to setup and suuport from the point of
view of packages and security update.

We also use Debian on all of our servers at work, many of which are
running mapserver also.
