Can we have links to free spatial data on Mapserver website?

Hi all,
There was a recent request for shapefiles of Europe by Benjamin. In line
with this query, would it be a good idea to have links to freely
available spatial data put on the Mapserver website?
Although I know that most of us already know the sources or have money
to buy data or most of us are actually working on self-generated data,
there are many who just require shapefiles as a backdrop. Also this may
provide incentive to people who want to explore Mapserver with a dataset
for their region.
If there is an affirmative response here are links that can be put up:

Landsat satellite data:
https://zulu.ssc.nasa.gov/mrsid/

SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) data:
http://seamless.usgs.gov/

Countrywise shapefiles and GIS program:
http://www.diva-gis.org/

VMAP0 data (incidentally does anyone know of a program to convert from
vmap format to shapefile?):

Geo Data Portal (brought to my notice by Laurent Jégou - so credit it to
him!)
