That may be the problem. Just for fun, I would try removing completely
the current mapscript.pm (and any files you will find in auto/mapscript)
and re-running the installation script (the standard perl Makefile.PL /
make / make install).
I've had similar errors in the past and usually it's had to do with
incompatibility between the new MS core and the mapscript wrapper.
