I think the bottom line is not to be defensive about it but to try to
make it better.  I can contribute a bit from a Windows standpoint and
will visit the site you mention.

I think we are lucky to have powerful, useful software like MapServer 
available to us at no cost.  The developers put a lot of work into the 
code, and probably don't have much time left over for writing 
documentation.  Any of us are welcome to contribute to the docs, though.

  I'm sure the developers would be thrilled to have more help.  Take a 
look at http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/mdp/mdp.html if you're interested 
in helping.
