link MapServer as client to ArcIMS

Dear list,
is anybody out there who has worked with ArcIMS before? I would like to
connect our map service to another service. They are running ArcIMS on IIS
and don't know how to do it. The ESRI maintanance has run out, the manual
description is for Apache and my counterpart is as newby as I am.
I wonder if there is any document on Internet which describes how to become
an ArcIMS server.
Any hint is wellcome.
