Hm, Fink isn't a 'bad' thing.  But it can get in the way when you  
start off on your own.  If there's nothing you know that you use fom  
it, it would be a good idea to remove it.

If the /sw folder is there, there might be an uninstall program or  
script there or in your Applications folder.  I don't know everything  
that it installs, but at least /sw and any bits in your shell init,  
maybe some applications.
