SIZE in percentages?

Hi Steve,

unfortunately this can't be applied to a WMS use case. There is no way to
override resolution (changing the WMS server MAP file thorugh Mapscript is
no option ofcourse). So the only way then is to have multiple MAP files, and
no way to link them using OGC interfaces .... ? That does not sound ideal to
me, and would require a very specific non-standard WMS client.

Alternatively, a resolution parameter should be added to the OGC GetMap
interface, maybe as a vendor-specific tag for now.

Best regards,
Bart

Using symbol scales and then tweaking the resolution parameter is the built
in way to do this.
Symbol scale set the scale at which a symbol or label is exactly SIZE pixels
tall. The resolution
parameter (map level) affects the way in which scales are computed. The
default is 72 pixels
per inch which works ok for monitors but is too low for print, where value
of 300 or higher might
work better.
