Strange Problem with dbf Files

Hi all,

I'm using Mapserver with Cartoweb (MS 4) and create shp, shx and dbf
Files using the shapelib C library (1.2.10). I encounter a strange
problem when using string attributes. I write them using
DBFWriteStringAttribute and see them using every available DBF viewer
(dbfdump ...). But if I try to read them out using ogrinfo, I only see
(null) values... I have really no idea, what's happening.... Does
anybody have an idea?
