[OpenLayers-Dev] Modal Loadingpanel

Hi,

I have what I think would be a simple task--i want the map to completely be
disabled for interaction while the layers are loading. I have used the
LoadingPanel.js extension, and while it works fine, I am stumped how to make
it modal. What would be the recommended route to do this with OpenLayers?
