 Bart, I'm aware that this is the reason. But there is no reason to change
 library code in order to make tests with incomplete mock objects pass,
 especially not if additional checks have to be added. When I investigated
 the reason for r12084, I saw that there are other good reasons for this
 additional check, and my comment in r12085 expains these. But the bottom
 line is that changes in the code should go through a review process.
