[OpenLayers-Users] Layer.WMS noisy images

I'm trying to use OpenLayers with mapserv using the WMS layer. I am 
getting the
map to display but it image is really noisy. Both shp2img and the 
mapserv's own
web interface produce clean images. OpenLayers looks bad. Any ideas? I 
tried
changing the image format from jepg to png but then I don't get anything.
