Hi Andres,
It looks like using a scales array did the trick.
My values were... scales: [153000000, 77000000, 38000000, 19000000,
10000000, 5000000, 2000000, 1000000, 599000, 300000],

Hi,
there are many ways to do that, combine one or more of the options
below to achieve the result you need:
* set a maxExtent for your base layer
* set a maxResolution for the base layer,
* configure a resolutions or scales array for your base layer
