[OpenLayers-Users] Confused about items on a map.

With most map API's a person can track an object. If not by an ID at least by
a instance. So if I make a OpenLayers.Feature.Vector and need to update its
lat and lon, color, or find this objects id/reference later when mouse
overed or down, how is that done?
