[OpenLayers-Users] overwriting functions

Well I'm doing like Paul suggested, without renaming the function:

OpenLayers.Layer.prototype.getLonLatFromViewPortPx = function (viewPortPx) {
alert('Overwritten!');
}; 

No way.

But if it is the correct way, I'll manage somehow.
