Hello Nathan,
I understand from this email thread below that you would be the best
point of contact for the NaturalEarth dataset?
I'd like to help promote NaturalEarth through the OSGeo Live DVD, which
is handed out at Geospatial conferences around the world, and with the
next release, is expected to be getting translated into multiple
languages (currently 6).
We have included some of the datasets on the LiveDVD and we are
encouraging the 40 applications packaged on the DVD to make use of these
datasets.
What would be really helpful would be if you (or someone else at
NaturalEarth), could create and then maintain a one page marketing
document for NaturalEarth which we can include on the DVD.
You can see what such pages should look like by looking at the
application overviews linked from here:
http://live.osgeo.org/overview/overview.html
The process for creating a document is described here:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Live_GIS_Add_Project#Application_Overview
Nathan,
I'm interested to hear your thoughts.
