Comment:

 I didn't look at your examples, but geography can only work with a half-
 hemisphere and from your description it sounds like you are trying to do
 more than that.

 As such I'm marking this as wontfix.  If you have a more specific example
 I can follow and are sure you are not falling into the geography flattened
 illusion, feel free to reopen.
