[postgis-users] PostGIS vs Suse8.0

[Postgis]

Let me explain my stiuation. I have Suse 8.0 as an operating system. I installed Postgresql from the SuSE 8.0 installation cds. I have working copy of Postgresql. Now what should i do to make Postgis work under my system? Do i have to use source files form postgresql.org?

  From what I understand, you do not need to recompile postgresql from source, but youdo need to have the source code available in order to build postgis.  Should be doable for you!

    Is it possible to install PostGIS over working PostgreSQL installation with Suse 8.0? Or do i have to compile postgresql form the source code then compile postgis form the source code as indicated at installation text? Is there any way to make it run over already installed system? If there is how?
