[postgis-users] Intersection of objects

Hello,

in the postgis installation I have found functions for testing intersection 
only.
Is there an library with functions to do some intersections where the 
result is an geometry object not an boolean value?
Is there an project for implementing the OGC Simple Feature Specification 
for SQL for postgis?
