You probably already read about it but I wanted to announce that
Paolo Cavallini startet a list to discuss GIS related stuff for
debian[1]. The name of the list is perhaps confusing but this list
is not only meant to discuss grass related issues. 

So I would suggest to subscribe on this list and to continue the
discussion on this list.
