[postgis-users] with geos support

hello

I am new to postgis and confused with installation.

in Makefile.config to get geos support , I changed
USE_GEOS=1
GEOS_DIR=/usr/local/geos-2.1.3   #my installation dir.

then as  root
I entered ./configure --enable-autoconf

nothing can be seen about geos.

can you tell me what I can do to get geos support ?
