Actually on Breezy Postgresql's pg_config is linked in /usr/bin/pg_config:

so your /.configure line might look _just_ like Mike Lehay suggested. Anyway the
link points to

/usr/lib/postgresql/8.0/bin/pg_config

So if you still encounter problems, you might want to try this path instead.
