[postgis-users] Finding nearest node

Hi,

 

I'm guess this is not a new subject but wondered if anyone had done testing
on the following scenarios.

 

We're looking at how we can manage "snap to node" options for some drawing
tools on a web mapping interface. There seem to be 2 options:

 

1)      Query the database to find the nearest node from a point, line and
polygon dataset

2)      Query the database for all nodes within a bounding box and then find
the nearest point locally

 

I wondered if there is any code for such calls?
