Michal,

Could you elaborate a bit on this? Does this mean that you have
separate DX and DY entries in your ArcASCII header, rather than
CELLSIZE?

The limitation to square cells is one of the most annoying parts of
the ArcASCII - a format that is otherwise extremely useful as a least
common denominator exchange format.
