Brylie,

Please also contact the Inkscape team to let them know about the idea
and see if anyone from their team could co-mentor the project.

I'm also interested to extend Inkscape with a tag editor for SVG that
makes it easier to catalog icons made in Inkscape in the proposed tool
in QGIS.
