I have now added a dialog for configuration of XYZ layers - closer to
the experience with WMS and others. Also possible to edit connections
now.

Yeah - I think it would be nice to have at least OpenStreetMap tiles
available by default. Would you like to lead on asking OSM project for
permission?

That can be also an interesting option, but not sure if we have
someone who is happy to dedicate time to build and maintain our own
tileserver...
