[QGIS-Developer] Alternative for python 'request' library in QGIS

Hi,
I have used 'requests'  library to access web resources in my plugin.
I am wondering if I should  migrate to  any QGIS core library instead ?
If yes would appreciate getting any  cheat sheet.
