[QGIS-Developer] Any planned/ongoing work regarding datum transformation?

Hi all,

This is a public callout to QGIS developers/support organisations to
see whether there's currently any work underway, or planned to
commence shortly, regarding any aspect of datum transformation within
QGIS.

Specifically,
- is anyone planning on continuing the work begun in 3.0 for extending
the support for datum transform context handling within QGIS to ensure
that more areas of code correctly respect user-set datum transform
settings?
- is anyone planning on upgrading QGIS to utilise the newer proj v5 api?
- has anyone plans for extending the QGIS GUI for transform settings
to take advantage of the work done during the GDAL barnraising
efforts?

I've been in discussion with a potential backer for work of this
nature and would like to confirm that there is no chance of
duplication of effort here.
