[QGIS-Developer] sudden performance issues with my QGIS installation

Could others test whether hiding network drives from the Browser bypasses
this issue?

I followed Richard Duivenvoorde's suggestion to "Hide from Browser" option
(see [0]), with the following exception: one of the network drives was not
even visible in the Browser Panel to right-click on, but it was being
"scanned" by QGIS. I had to open QGIS3.ini and manually add it as a value
to the key [browser]/hiddenPaths=. Now, I can use the Browser panel without
QGIS freezing for 30 seconds every 2 minutes!
