[QGIS-Developer] Virtuel Fields are apparently stored as part of a style?

I am working with virtual fields in Field Calculator as I need to have
columns updated based on data from a dbf file present in the project folder
whenever I open the project.

I have two different styles set up for the layer with virtual fields and
after having edited some of the formulas for the virtual fields I was very
puzzled on what was going on?

Until I realized that the formulas had only been changed for the style that
was used for showing the layer when I made the edits. For the other style
the formulas were not edited.

Is this intentional or an error?
