Here's another one I just discovered: install the "no annoyance"
extension from https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/2182/noannoyance/
to disable the (annoying) default behaviour where new application
windows get opened behind other applications and you just get a "....
application is ready" notification instead. This is especially
annoying as it impacts all the nice shortcuts QGIS exposes for doing
things like directly opening the file manager to see newly created
pdf/layer exports/etc.
