[QGIS-Developer] Resize colorbar in legend

Hello,

I have tried both the QgsLayoutItemLegend and the QgsLayerTreeView classes to display the colorbar for a loaded raster/mesh layer in a custom QGIS application (3.20 Odense, using C++ api), but the colorbar is way too small.  Is there a way to maximize the size relative to its parent layout/widget?  My last resort is to create one from scratch, which I'd rather not do.
