Thanks for pointing that out.  Wow, I already have a note to be scared
of sip updates; I'll have to update it :-(.

Sounds like 3.40.8 will be ok and out soon.  I'll just defer sip6 update
until after that.  (I don't want to add that PR as a patch, as there is
no compelling reason to make the sip6 update soon.)
