Hi Anita, 

Thank you for preparing the two screenshots. 

I don't have a very strong opinion - both look good to me. 

However, I would propose to get rid of the small texts - both the
"Linuxhotel" (if we would go with that version) and the "Map courtesy of
Stadt Essen". 

We can put the "Map courtesy of Stadt Essen" text into the QGIS about
dialog. We did the same with QGIS 2.0 (Dufour), where we had to put a
copyright notice about the map into the about screen. Sorry I don't have
a screenshot of this old about screen anymore. 

But the idea is to put that text just below the GNU license URL. We
could put two sentences there: 

- QGIS Splash screen map courtesy of Stadt Essen 

- Thanks to the Linux hotel (Essen) for hosting the 2012 and 2014
developer meetings
