thank you for rising it from a pragmatic point of view, it is really useful.
I don't want to enter in your business decisions, but I can suggest to
little modifications to your workflow to reach a meeting point with
qgis plugin approval workflow
1) give to your clients a dev private repo with rapid bug fix. Usually
is more safe having a testing phase before to have it officially
released. dev private repo can be added automatically with another
upstream plugin that never change. In this way the client does not
have to edit repo manually.
2) Paolo can launch a "call for help" looking for a second person able
to review plugins with him... IMHO it's time to have more person doing
this voluntary work. I suppose (i hope) we'll find someone happy to
help to the project in this way.... Trevor, this can be a good match
point for collaboration with the project other than plugin creation.
